Throughout history people have always moved, looking for a better life. This is how much of the world was populated

from prehistory to the present day. Immigration is part study of my family’s history of travel and part reflection on migration and movement of people around the globe in the present day. My family though Anglo-Irish has connections to Scotland, France, New Zealand, Canada, India and England.

The first migrants travelled exclusively on foot.
